Last night at KT’s, we were thumbing through old LIFE magazines from the 1940’s and 1950’s as well as National Geographic magazines from 1930. Everything looked so dreamy. The advertisements were hilariously dated and sexist. The ad design was so pleasing to the eye versus the modern brainsplosions in advertising. The world looked to bright and optimistic. Shipping ads flaunted explorer tours of the South America’s with an efficiently fast destination time of NINE days. I loved it. Anyway, here is a shot from a 1944 ad for Abercrombie & Fitch (yeah, THAT Abercrombie & Fitch).
