Inspire Me

That’s me on the weekends. I play in a punk band with my wife. We occasionally tour for short amounts of time and make very little money doing it. We’ve recorded a lot of music, though, and have some vinyl releases. 

This, however, is my 24/7, unconditionally loving boss:

I’m a 24 year old stay at home dad for my beautiful, ever curious 2 year old, Dex Wray Wilde. I’m also a stage barfing, crowd tackling, open wound rock n’ roller. 

I’m starting this blog to prove to people that punks are good parents. 

We got nothing better to do / than watch TV / and have a box of juice.

I started my tumblr 2 years ago and titled it “Inspire Me.” It was originally meant to be a place to dump files from my laptop as well as other images, quotes, passages, videos, songs moved me to create new things. I was in a creative funk. It was cold. I was a bit depressed. I wrote and recorded a swell little EP shortly after starting my tumblr.

Since then I got a whole bunch of followers (wtf?), life got super busy with college (math anxiety), work, then the arrival of my wonderful baby Tiger, and finally the broken ankle debacle of 2011. I haven’t created much tangible stuff in the last year but I have formed an incredible bond with the sweetest little human in the world.

Back to the subject… Inspire Me is a place for stuff that inspires me and Waylon (and Meg, and Dex) are a wonderfully inspiring family. They get ideas and make them happen without delay. painting, planting, animals, houses, firepits, albums, meals… they just DO AMAZING STUFF CONSTANTLY and it’s really inspiring to know that you can be married, have kids, have jobs, buy a home, be poor and still be able to love life, create new things, record music, inspire others, and make the world a better place.
